FAQ: What is the minimal input amount that can be used with the Monarch® Genomic DNA Purification Kit?

Input material amounts that result in expected yields of around 100 ng of gDNA correspond to: 5 µl whole blood, 1 x 104 cultured cells or 0.2 mg tissue. If a smaller amount of input material is used, non-specific binding to surfaces will cause the recovery rate to drop. For best results with very small amounts of input material, the use of carrier RNA is recommended. See the product manual for more details.
