FAQ: Does NEB sell any isothermal amplification kits?

Yes. We offer two options for Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP): WarmStart® LAMP Kit (DNA & RNA) (NEB #E1700), which enables LAMP and RT-LAMP reactions using a variety of detection methods; and the WarmStart Colorimetric LAMP 2X Master Mix (DNA & RNA) (NEB #M1800), which incorporates the same LAMP and RT-LAMP solution with a built-in colorimetric indicator of amplification for simple visual detection. Both LAMP options require only user-supplied LAMP primers and target DNA or RNA samples. Additionally, WarmStart RTx Reverse Transcriptase (NEB #M0380), the RT in both LAMP products, can be purchased separately.

NEB also offers the IsoAmp® II Universal tHDA Kit (NEB #H0110), a helicase-dependent isothermal amplification method (developed and produced by BioHelix Corp., a former NEB-affiliated company, now part of Quidel Corporation.)

For other isothermal amplification reactions, we do not offer kits, but the necessary reagents can be purchased alongside the desired enzymes, typically dNTP (NEB #N0447) and MgSO4 (NEB #B1003S, provided with the Bst DNA polymerases solutions). For LAMP and other single-enzyme reactions, polymerases such as Bst 3.0 DNA Polymerase (NEB #M0374), Bst 2.0 WarmStart DNA Polymerase (NEB #M0538), or Bst DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment (NEB #M0275), and buffer supplemented with dNTP and MgSO4 is sufficient. For nicking-based multi-enzyme applications (e.g., strand-displacement amplification (SDA)), a polymerase such as a Bst variant, dNTP, and MgSO4 should be used in addition to a nicking enzyme (e.g., Nt.BstNBI, NEB #R0607) or a restriction enzyme (e.g. BsoBI, NEB #R0586) and thiophosphate nucleoside analog (not available from NEB).
